"Training is what you are doing while your opponent is sleeping in"
- Brian Owen
Robert has been a cyclist for almost his entire life, first as a child growing up in Tuscany, then after moving to London. Once he started working, he rode the 40Km commute to/from work, as well as enjoying long weekend rides. Having dabbled with racing when younger, Robert now prefers to test himself on cyclosportives or just to ride for sheer pleasure of it.
Robert has been teaching indoor cycling since 2003, and been a certified Spinning® instructor since 2006, giving up his desk job to become a full-time professional in 2007. Rob's rides are influenced by his experience as a cyclist, coach, instructor, DJ and a passion for the Spinning® programme and the life changes that it can help deliver.
Rob's experience as a cyclist helps him design Spinning® rides to enhance performance on the road, while motivating individuals regardless of objectives and fitness levels. Rob's rides are energising and inspirational, fun but challenging, all with a specific training goal.
Rob's not a music snob and will listen to anything from classical to rock to hardcore trance. ''If it sounds good and suits the mood I'm trying to convey, then it gets used''. That said, he likes everything that DJ Shah has ever done or remixed – ''I even used his chill out tracks for my wedding!''
